I just have to share this picture! Nic Mills (Rippon) pours a '92 Rippon with Aubert de Villaine (DRC) sharing a glass on the right! There is a very fruitful exchange program between Burgundy, France & Central Otago, New Zealand; several French wine students work each year in New Zealand, and several New Zealand students work each year in Burgundy. It's interesting to see such a great regional focus on pinot noir in Central Otago after only about 25-30 years of modern winemaking history; and also too see such solid, global inter-regional cooperation towards making truly great pinot noir. This photo, in a way, captures the spirit of this exchange and cooperation.
