Tenuta San Jacopo 'Poggio ai Grilli' 2009 Chianti (Tuscany, Italy)
So different from the usual Chianti-- this one is full of bright cherry fruit, so ripe and fresh. None of the dusty, dried, or rustic qualities that you find in so many Chiantis.

Three brothers from Milan headed to Tuscany-- right between Florence and Sienna-- and purchased this old, run-down property in 2002. They have been coaxing it back to life with organic farming ever since. They are trying to move away from the Super Tuscan movement, and back to indigenous varieties.
